Discover Tony's Pizza And Restaurant

If you’re anywhere near 108 Boston Rd, Springfield, MA 01109, United States, you’ve probably heard locals talk about Tony's Pizza And Restaurant like it’s a neighborhood landmark. After eating here several times over the past year-both for quick takeout and relaxed dine-in dinners-I can honestly say it lives up to the buzz. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers repeat customers, the portions are generous, and the aroma of fresh dough hits you before you even open the door.

Let’s talk about the menu, because that’s where this spot really shines. The pizza is the obvious headliner. Their classic cheese pizza has that perfect balance of crispy crust and chewy center, with a tomato sauce that tastes bright and slightly sweet. According to the National Restaurant Association, pizza consistently ranks among the top comfort foods in America, and after trying Tony’s hand-tossed pies, it’s easy to see why. The dough is made fresh daily, which you can taste in every bite. I once asked the counter staff about their process, and they explained that the dough is cold-fermented to enhance flavor and texture-a method widely recommended by professional pizzaiolos for better crust structure and digestibility.

Beyond pizza, the restaurant offers a full lineup of Italian-American favorites. Think grinders packed with cold cuts, hearty pasta dishes like baked ziti and chicken parmigiana, and fresh salads that don’t feel like an afterthought. On one visit, I ordered the lasagna after a long workday. It arrived bubbling hot, layered generously with ricotta, seasoned ground beef, and mozzarella. The portion was easily enough for two meals, which makes it great value for families or anyone looking for leftovers the next day.

What stands out just as much as the food is the consistency. In the restaurant industry, consistency is everything. Food safety guidelines from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration emphasize proper temperature control and ingredient handling, and you can see that care reflected here. The dining area is clean, the open prep spaces look organized, and orders come out promptly without sacrificing quality. Over multiple visits, I’ve never had an incorrect order or a dip in flavor, which says a lot.

The atmosphere leans casual and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where high school students grab slices after class while families gather around large tables on weekends. During one Friday night visit, I noticed a steady stream of takeout orders alongside dine-in guests, which speaks to its reputation in Springfield. Online reviews often mention friendly service and reliable delivery times, and from my experience, that feedback feels accurate. Even during peak hours, the staff stays patient and upbeat.

Another thing worth noting is the variety on the menu. Not everyone wants pizza every time, and Tony’s seems to understand that. From seafood platters to burgers and crispy fries, there’s something for different tastes. I brought a friend who prefers lighter meals, and she opted for a grilled chicken salad that was surprisingly fresh and well-balanced. The lettuce was crisp, the chicken tender, and the dressing served on the side-a small detail that shows attention to customer preference.

Location also plays a role in its popularity. Being situated on Boston Road makes it easily accessible whether you’re coming from downtown Springfield or nearby neighborhoods. Parking is straightforward, which might sound minor, but it matters when you’re picking up dinner in a hurry.

Of course, like any busy local diner, wait times can stretch a bit on weekend evenings. That’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning a large group visit. Calling ahead for takeout has worked well for me, especially on game nights or holidays.

Overall, the combination of flavorful pizza, a broad Italian-American menu, dependable service, and a convenient Springfield location makes this restaurant a reliable choice. Whether you’re craving a classic slice, a hearty pasta dinner, or a quick family meal, this spot delivers food that feels both comforting and carefully prepared, earning its place among the most talked-about neighborhood restaurants in the area.

  • Excellent pizza. Just got it by the slice and they basically give you two of their regular sized slices for the price of one. Not knowing that, I got two cheese slices, paid $8, no problem. No more than three minutes later the very friendly guy handed me two boxes, looked like each of the boxes could fit a personal size pizza. And each of the boxes had two slices in it! I couldn’t finish it all. And it was so good. Fresh out the oven, the crust and bottom had a very nice crunch. The sauce is really tasty too, with real tomato pieces in it, though just a little more spices couldn’t hurt- but still great. Cheese was good too. Cashier and cook were both friendly and the place was clean. Really great first experience here.

  • Tony’s Pizza & Restaurant has long been a favorite of mine for takeout, known for its delicious pizzas, grinders, and party food. Recently, I decided to dine in, and I was blown away by their Italian offerings. Every dish I tried, from the fresh salads to the crispy wings and indulgent fried mozzarella, was incredibly flavorful. The meatball plates and main entrées were equally satisfying, making each visit a treat. The staff, both for takeout and dining, is outstanding—always friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed, perfect for a Sunday afternoon after church. I love settling in at the bar, catching a game, and enjoying some appetizers. Tony’s is truly a hidden gem in our city, a cornerstone of the community that deserves more recognition. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or dining in, you won’t be disappointed!

  • During my recent trip to Springfield, I couldn’t resist stopping by Tony’s Pizza with my family of 12 (plus a baby, lol). I can’t even begin to express how impressed I was! The pizza was absolutely fresh, delicious, and more than enough to satisfy our large group. The wings were perfect too—just the right amount of breading, and the buffalo wings weren’t overly saucy, which made them even better. But honestly, the best part wasn’t just the food; it was the incredible service we received. Despite our huge group, everyone was so kind, patient, and understanding. My mom, who’s been gravely ill, has always loved Tony’s, so I made sure to bring her a combo slice to the hospital after our visit. Even in her condition, she savored every single bite—it took her over an hour to finish, but she kept saying how delicious it was. Thank you, Tony’s Pizza, for being amazing in every way. You’ve been our family’s go-to for over 30 years, and this experience just reinforced why we’ll keep coming back. You’re the best!

  • Best sausage pizza around. Tony's is one of the few places around using very tasty crumbled sweet sausage instead of tasteless sliced links. Dough is thin but holds it shape with pillowy crusty edges. Sauce is tasty too! House made fried mozz was good.

  • When you need a pizza, dare I say as a Boston fan, with a New York feel, then look no further than Tony's. This is my go to. As one who who has an old school style when it comes to pie. The crust is exceptional and the flavors baked in are excellent ... try the pepperoni or meatlovers to see what I am talking about. This is an neighborhood establishment and quite busy but for taking your pie home and indulging in comfortable surroundings there are few locations in Springfield that will deliver this experience...
